Thursday afternoon (Dec 11) : Nançay Observatory visit and conference dinner
The Nançay Observatory is located ~1 hour drive south of Orléans. Coaches will take people interested in the visit departing from Dupanloup at around 1:30pm. The visit will take about 3 hours, and after that the coaches will bring us to the conference dinner venue, the Domaine Valaudran in Salbris.

The restaurant served a classical french cuisine, the two main menus (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) will be chosen in advance in the conference registration form, as well as other specific diets. The non-vegetarian menu is Œuf parfait, crémeux de petits pois et dès de saumon (eggs and salmon) for starter and Magret de Canard aux épices douces et patate douce (duck breast and sweet potatoes) as main, and the vegetarian menu is Déclinaison de carottes confites au crottin de Chavignol (carrots and local goat cheese) for starter and Risotto croustillant à la betterave (crispy beetroot risotto) as main. Everyone will enjoy a crème brûlée as dessert. After the dinner the coaches will bring everyone back in Orléans.
For people wanting to join for the conference dinner but not for the Observatory visit, or people wanting to visit the telescopes but not join for dinner, there is a direct train line from Orléans to Salbris. The trip is about 40 minutes and the coaches will be able to take people to and from the Salbris train station.
All week: Christmas market
In December, Orléans centre will be animated by the annual Christmas market, definitely something to take a look during free time.
